"God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in Him" -Piper

Over the course of the past few months the Lord has had me meditating upon the Psalms of Ascent. What follows is the poetic writings that flowed through my times of meditation.

I purposefully put these personal writings on my blog to help you draw closer to the Lord as you meditate on the Psalms of Ascent and these poetic writings.

Before reading these Psalms take a moment to read how to meditate upon Scritpure.

R – Read out loud.

W – Write the verse or verses that you are led to meditate upon.

S – Say it.

S – Sing it.

P – Pray it.

Psalm 121-2

I lift up my eys to the hills

From where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, who mande heaven and earth.

Verse 1:

Father I deliberately lift my eyes  to focus on you

I am deeply in love with you Abba

I have set my heart on gazing upon your beauty

I am transfixed as you are constantly drawing me into your presence

Your help sustains me, giving strength to my feeble hands and knees

When I feel like a dislocated boy your right hand upholds me

I am deeply moved by the sheer truth that you answer me when I cry for help.

Abba thank you for the revelation of your Word that you are my protector

Thank you that I can experience in the depths of my emotions that you are my help

You come to my rescue

You are closer to me than my own heart beat

I am always with you

I am never out of your presence

I am at your side and I am nursed by your right hand.

Verse2

Abba you are my Creator-God

You created the heaven and earth

I bear your nature

I have your DNA

As your creation I lift up my eyes to gaze upon you

It is in this most intimate gaze that I experience that I am in you and you are in me

I humbly bow before you my God and King

You are the Father of help because you are pure love

My desire is purely for you

I have no one in heaven but you

On earth I have desire for no one but you

As my Creator you are all I desire and need

I am bonded to you for eternity
